Perspectiva del estudiante de odontología frente al retorno a las actividades académicas 2022-I en el contexto Covid-19

Abstract

La pandemia de Covid-19 ha ocasionado grandes cambios en los estilos de vida y sobre todo en las actividades académicas donde la presencialidad es reemplazada por la educación virtual. Objetivo: Determinar la perspectiva del estudiante de odontología frente al retorno a las actividades académicas 2022-I en el contexto Covid-19. Material y Método: Se evaluó a 471 alumnos de odontología de 4to a 9no ciclo de las Universidades San Martín de Porres y Señor de Sipán, se usó un cuestionario ad-hoc para conocer la perspectiva de los estudiantes, fue enviado mediante correo institucional mediante un formulario virtual junto con el consentimiento informado. Resultados: el 83% vive en un núcleo familiar, el 51,6% convive con un familiar de riesgo para Covid-19, el 57,5% vive con un familiar que ha padecido o fallecido por Covid-19 y el 41,8% padeció Covid-19, Con respecto a la conectividad, el 72,8% usa un dispositivo propio mientras que el 75,2% tiene internet fijo. La perspectiva de los estudiantes es incierta no saben como será el inicio de clases ni cómo será la calificación en el semestre 2022-I, el 32,7% esta de acuerdo de la virtualidad ha sido una pérdida de tiempo en algunos cursos, el 38,9% cree que la virtualidad ha sido ventajosa, el 62,4% indica que se matricularía de iniciarse las clases así sea virtual. La mayoría esta está convencido de que los protocolos de bioseguridad van a cumplirse. Conclusión: En general la perspectiva de los alumnos es incierta, desconocen la modalidad ni la calificación practica en el 2022-I, así mismo la mayoría tiene en claro que va a seguir estudiando cual fuera la modalidad de estudio, en relación a la bioseguridad la mayoría está segura qué su universidad va a cumplir con los protocolos, así como ellos mismos van a cuidar su salud usando mascarillas, manteniendo el distanciamiento y vacunándose.

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused great changes in lifestyles and especially in academic activities where face-to-face is replaced by virtual education. Objective: To determine the perspective of the dental student regarding the return to academic activities 2022-I in the Covid-19 context. Material and Method: 471 dentistry students from 4th to 9th cycle of the San Martín de Porres and Señor de Sipán Universities were evaluated, an ad-hoc questionnaire was used to know the perspective of the students, which was sent by institutional mail through a virtual form together with the informed consent. Results: 83% live in a family nucleus, 51.6% live with a relative at risk for Covid-19, 57.5% live with a relative who has suffered or died from Covid-19 and 41.8 % suffered from Covid-19. Regarding connectivity, 72.8% use their own device while 75.2% have fixed internet. The perspective of the students is uncertain, they do not know how the start of classes will be or how the grade will be in the 2022-I semester, 32.7% agree that virtuality has been a waste of time in some courses, 38 .9% believe that virtuality has been advantageous, 62.4% indicate that they would enroll if classes start even if it is virtual. Most are convinced that biosafety protocols will be met. Conclusion: In general, the perspective of the students is uncertain, they do not know what the modality will be or how the practical part will be graded in 2022-I, likewise the majority are clear that they will continue studying whatever the modality was. study, in relation to biosafety, most are sure that their university will comply with the protocols just as they themselves will take care of their health by wearing masks, maintaining distance and getting vaccinated.
