Abstract
ABSTRACT This research was carried in the Chacomas village, Quiruvilca district, Santiago de Chuco province, with the objective of determining the effect of three levels of a biofertilizer in the yield and quality of Spinacia oleracea L. var. The experiment was conducted under field conditions in a randomized complete block design. The evaluated characteristics were number of leaves per plant, plant height, leaf area, yield, leaf blade length, leaf blade width, petiole length; obtaining positive effects of the treatments with Organic gem (T2, T3 and T4) on the yield and quality of spinach, presenting significant statistical differences in the number of leaves per plant from 23.50 to 14.90, plant height from 38.08 cm to 24.96 cm, area leaf from 3310.28 cm2 to 1061.98 cm2, yield from 32265.02 kg.ha-1 to 10875.17 kg.ha-1, and quality in leaf blade length from 21.54 cm to 13.24 cm, leaf blade width from 12.98 cm to 8.39 cm, length of petiole from 16.35 cm to 11.29 cm, in relation to the control treatment. The research data was analyzed at 95% reliability using analysis of variance and Tuckey's test. It is concluded that the application of Organic gem in level of 16 lt.ha-1 (T4) presented the best effect on spinach yield and quality in Santiago de Chuco, La Libertad.
