Abstract
The present investigation was carried out in Trujillo, in the Ceramics Laboratory of the School of Materials Engineering of the National University of Trujillo, the objective was to determine the influence of the addition of sugar cane bagasse ash (CBCA) on the water susceptibility of a hot mix asphalt. For the elaboration of the thesis a pure experimental design was used, the sampling was non-probabilistic by judgement, the data collection was carried out with the observation technique, the observation guide was used as an instrument, for the analysis of the data descriptive statistics was used. The problem of asphalt pavements when they are exposed to water, present failures before the time for which they were designed, presenting failures in its asphalt layer such as rutting, cracks and fissures. By adding 3 % CBCA, the maximum stability of 12.12 kN was obtained compared to the standard sample that reached 8.46 kN. The influence of sugar cane bagasse ash on the susceptibility to water was determined, finding that by adding 5 % CBCA, a residual stability index of 96.63 % was obtained.
