Abstract
Lung ultrasound is a diagnostic imaging technique whose availability is greater than other types of imaging methods, and it does not use ionizing radiation. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, ultrasound demonstrates usefulness due to its use in imaging research in the care of people affected by SARS-CoV-2, especially those who report infection with the most severe variant, which requires intensive care and invasive mechanical ventilator assistance. Objective: Determine the diagnostic efficacy of lung ultrasound in the diagnosis of COVID-19 pneumonia Method: Through a cross-sectional descriptive study of diagnostic test evaluation, at the Victor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital ESsalud Trujillo-Peru. 64 patients with suspected COVID-19 with a positive CT result for pneumonia and 172 patients with suspected COVID-19 with a negative CT result for pneumonia will be considered, totaling 236 patients who had suspected COVID-19 pneumonia.
