Abstract
The objective of this research work was to determine the influence of the “Shadowing” technique on the pronunciation of English in first-year students at the San Juan School, Trujillo, 2022. The research design was quantitative, pre-experimental. In addition, the population was made up of first-year secondary school students at the San Juan school and had a sample of 28 first-grade “B” students. The instrument used was a pre and post - test. To obtain results, the marginal homogeneity test was used, since the variable was measured qualitatively on an ordinal scale with more than two categories. From what was obtained, it is concluded that the Shadowing technique has a positive influence on the pronunciation of English and with greater emphasis on rhythm. However, one cannot ignore the accent and intonation that also developed simultaneously. Now, with the correct procedure of the technique, it was possible to know the difficulties that the students had when reproducing the sounds of the English language and in turn apply the immediate solution.
