Abstract
The linguistic varieties are the different levels of the language, that is, they are the different ways in which the speakers use their language, this with respect to their context determined by their social class or cultural level. It refers to the different expressions related to social groups such as family, friends, study companions, work or fun, etc., which are used and/or represented by a specific linguistic level. An educated person is not one who perfectly manages a certain level of the language, but one who can communicate and understand all the levels and variants that exist, thus, using and knowing a greater number of terms and expressions at different levels increase linguistic culture. Since the main function of language is to construct and represent reality, classify and categorize it, as well as build a social fabric, establish links based on a greater capacity for mutual understanding and make possible coexistence and social cohesion among users of the same language. It is necessary for students to be prepared to adequately socialize in the different socio-cultural contexts present in their communities, and for that in the following sufficiency work, the different forms of expression included in the formal and informal levels of the linguistic register will be presented and explained. .
