Abstract
ABSTRACT This research was conducted on the UNT university campus - Santiago de Chuco branch, at an altitude of approximately 3101 meters above sea level, with the objective of determining the effect of different levels of cuyinaza on the performance and quality of Spinacia oleracea L., in Santiago de Chuco, La Libertad. The treatments consisted of 0, 3, 6 and 9 t.ha-1 cuyinaza for treatments T1, T2, T3 and T4 respectively. The experiment was conducted under field conditions in a randomized complete block design. The characteristics evaluated were plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, fresh weight, yield and spinach quality; obtaining positive effects of the treatments paid with cuyinaza (T2, T3 and T4) on the yield and quality of spinach, presenting significant statistical differences in plant height from 25.06 to 25.97 cm, in number of leaves from 17.07 to 17.17 units, in area foliar of 83.15 to 139.42 cm, in fresh weight of 20.69 to 26.99 g, in yield of 4414.57 to 5775.86 t, and in quality of 9% to 7% damage, in relation to the control treatment respectively. The research data were analyzed at 95% reliability by analysis of variance and the Tuckey test. It is concluded that, the application of cuyinaza in doses of 6 t.ha-1 (T3) has the best effect on the performance and quality of spinach in Santiago de Chuco, La Libertad.
