Abstract
Abstract: Preeclampsia affects approximately 6-8% of pregnancies and is one of the most fatal events due to the high morbidity and mortality rate. Likewise, anemia is considered a global problem and the consequences are serious for both mothers and their children; Postpartum hemorrhage, postpartum febrile morbidity, and sepsis are among the adverse perinatal outcomes observed in anemic pregnant women. Therefore, the objective of the study is to determine if maternal anemia is a risk factor for preeclampsia in pregnant women treated at the Víctor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital. The design will be observational, analytical, retrospective of cases and controls. The clinical history of each pregnant woman treated at the Víctor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital during the period 2018 to 2022 will be selected as the unit of analysis. The sample size will be 174 cases and controls respectively. A data collection form will be used. The study will ensure the ethical principles proposed in the Code of Ethics and Deontology of the Medical College of Peru, as well as the evaluation and approval by the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Medicine of the National University of Trujillo. For data analysis, descriptive statistics will be used, in the same way the parametric chi square test will be selected to compare the levels of severity of anemia, considering the chance value less than 5% (p < 0.05) significant, it will be calculated. the Odds Ratio and the 95% confidence interval.
