Abstract
Abstract To determine whether there is a difference in the prevalence of post-fall syndrome in older adults operated on for proximal femur fracture with arthroplasty versus intramedullary nail at the Trujillo Regional Teaching Hospital during the period January 2018-July 2023. Methods: Descriptive, longitudinal study, in which access to the database of patients operated on for proximal femur fracture was requested and the patients were contacted and a home visit was made for evaluation using the Tinetti scale. Results: The prevalence of post-fall syndrome is significantly higher in patients operated with arthroplasty (84.8%) compared to those treated with intramedullary nailing (63%), with a statistically significant difference (p≤ 0.05). Conclusion: The prevalence of post-fall syndrome is significantly higher in patients undergoing arthroplasty.
