Abstract
Abstract NAFLD is associated with insulin resistance, and it was seen that with imaging or histology techniques, this pathology can be diagnosed. NAFLD can progress to fibrosis, eventually leading to cirrhosis and cirrhosis-related complications such as end-stage liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma. Ultrasound is the primary imaging modality for evaluating hepatic steatosis due to its non-invasive nature, low cost, and absence of radiation exposure. Objective: Determine if obesity is a risk factor for non-alcoholic hepatic steatosis due to ultrasound findings in patients treated at the Víctor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital in the period January to June 2023. Method: Permission will be requested from the Victor Lazarte Echegaray hospital to review the medical records of patients who meet the inclusion criteria and to have access to their record of the results of their images.
