Abstract
La investigación busca determinar el impacto social de la prensa alternativa en la conciencia social de los estudiantes de la Facultad de Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad Nacional de Trujillo en 2023. En un contexto donde la percepción de la realidad está profundamente influenciada por lo que se ve y escucha en los medios de comunicación, este estudio busca explorar cómo los estudiantes recurren a la prensa alternativa como una fuente de información que les brinda nuevas perspectivas de los problemas sociales, culturales y políticos. Los resultados de la investigación muestran que un porcentaje significativo de los estudiantes prefiere la prensa alternativa o la combina con la prensa tradicional, lo que refleja una tendencia hacia la búsqueda de nueva información. La prensa alternativa se ha revelado como un medio esencial para fomentar una conciencia social crítica, promoviendo la reflexión y un mayor compromiso por los problemas sociales. El estudio destaca el rol fundamental de las redes sociales en la transmisión de noticias e información, facilitando el acceso a varios contenidos y fomentando el debate público. En conjunto, estos hallazgos subrayan la importancia de la prensa alternativa en la conciencia social y en la promoción de una sociedad más informada y comprometida.
ABSTRACT The main objective of this research is to determine the degree of social impact of the alternative press on the social awareness of students of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the National University of Trujillo in 2023. In a context where the perception of reality is deeply influenced by what is seen and heard in the media, this study seeks to explore how students turn to the alternative press as a source of information that provides them with new perspectives on social, cultural and political issues. The research results show that a significant percentage of students prefer the alternative press or combine it with the traditional press, which reflects a tendency towards the search for current information. The alternative press has appeared as an essential means of fostering critical social consciousness, promoting reflection and greater commitment to social problems. In addition, the study highlights the fundamental role of social networks in the transmission of news and information, facilitating access to a wide variety of content and encouraging public debate. Together, these findings underline the importance of the alternative press in raising social awareness and promoting a more informed and engaged society.
