Abstract
El estudio de investigación de tipo experimental, in vitro, prospectivo y longitudinal tuvo como propósito determinar la efectividad antibacteriana in vitro de una infusión a base de Té Verde (Camelia sinensis) sobre periodontopatógenos obtenidos de bolsas periodontales de pacientes diabéticos.
La efectividad antibacteriana se determinó por medio del metodo de difusión, para ello, se colocó las infusiones de camelia sinensis al 25%, 50%, 75% y clorhexidina 0.12%, para luego medir el halo de inhibición que producían ciertas concentraciones sobre los periodontopatógenos aislados.
Los resultados obtenidos en todas las concentraciones presentaron un efecto antibacteriano, siendo la infusión de camelia sinensis a una concentracion de 75% mayor que la Clorherixina 0.12%. Sin embargo, en todas las concentraciones de infusión de camelia sinensis existieron diferencias altamente significativas (p>0.05).
