Abstract
Given that there are factors that are associated with the failure of an anastomosis, we seek to determine if these are the ones that influence the failure of anastomotic sutures at a given time. The dehiscence of an intestinal anastomosis is one of the most feared complications, increasing mortality, morbidity, care costs, length of hospital stay and suffering on the part of patients and their families. Objective: To determine if anemia, leukocytosis, elevated c-reactive protein and hypoalbuminemia are risk factors for small intestine anastomosis dehiscence in patients with abdominal surgery at the Víctor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital. Materials and methods: Study with a quantitative approach, observational, analytical, longitudinal, cases and controls, retrospective during the period 2013 -2023 in HVLE. The variables anemia, leukocytes, elevated CRP and hypoalbuminemia will be analyzed as possible risk factors for anastomotic dehiscence.
