Abstract
The present work of professional sufficiency entitled: "We solve problems of quantity in problematic situations of addition, subtraction and multiplication in third grade elementary students" is focused on the curriculum area of regular basic education, allows us to implement the resolution of quantity problems based on the different situations of their reality in which the student lives, making use of concrete material, either as provided by the MINEDU or with which it counts in its reality. It seeks for third grade students to develop the ability to solve concrete problems from the classroom to apply them in various situations in their daily lives. For the elaboration of the present work, the student’s reality has been considered as the basis, in which a diversity of situations is evidenced, either as the local reality or by the events that occur in the course of the days, in which the student is immersed. Such situations that are part of their daily lives, become vital resources for the student to be able to build their knowledge in problem solving, applying various strategies that include the four steps of the Polya method, and materials or resources at its disposal. The planning and execution of the sessions are considered strategies that arouse the interest of the student in the resolution of quantity problems and a significant learning is achieved. The one that will help you to face similar situations in your environment and with projection to be applied in diverse environments
