Abstract
The present qualitative - ethnographic research study used Madeleine Leininger's theory of transcultural care as the main theoretical reference. It focused on practices, beliefs, and customs. Conducted in the rural area of the El Pallar town center, Sánchez Carrión Province, it aimed to analyze cultural care practices during the postpartum period for rural women. The participants were 8 postpartum mothers who shared the cultural care practices they follow during the postpartum stage, which are passed down from generation to generation. Data collection was carried out through participatory interviews and in-depth observation, using a guide with semi-structured open-ended questions. After coding and classifying the statements, 7 cultural domains and 4 taxonomies were identified: "my beliefs and customs take care of my health," "if I don’t follow the midwife’s advice, I get sick," "we are protected to regain health and strength," and "by following my customs and beliefs, I protect my sexual and reproductive health
