Abstract
En la presente tesis se muestra una aplicación del Teorema de Categoría de Baire al espacio de las funciones continuas en ninguna parte diferenciables; esto es, se demuestra el Teorema de Banach-Mazurkiewicz que dice lo siguiente: el espacio de las funciones continuas que son en ninguna parte diferenciables en [0, 1], es de segunda categoría en el espacio de las funciones continuas en [0, 1] con la métrica del supremo. Además, también se demuestra que el espacio de las funciones continuas que tienen derivada en al menos un punto de [0, 1] es de primera categoría. Para lograr esto, primero se presentan algunos antecedentes históricos relacionados al espacio de las funciones continuas en ninguna parte diferenciables; luego, se presentan algunas definiciones y teoremas del análisis real, de espacios métricos y del análisis funcional, exponiéndose las demostraciones de ciertos teoremas fundamentales para la presente tesis, tales como: el teorema de la categoría de Baire y resultados de espacios métricos completos
ABSTRACT In the present thesis an application of Baire’s Category Theorem to the space of continuous nowhere differentiable functions is shown; that is, the Banach-Mazurkiewicz Theorem is proved, which says the following: the space of continuous functions that are nowhere differentiable on [0, 1], is of the second category in the space of continuous functions on [0, 1] with the supremum metric. In addition, it is shown that the space of continuous functions that have derivative in at least one point of [0, 1] is of first category. To achieve this, firstly some historical background related to the space of continuous functions that are nowhere differentiable is presented; then, some definitions and theorems of real analysis, metric spaces and functional analysis are presented, exposing the proofs of certain fundamental theorems for this thesis, such as: Baire’s category theorem and results of complete metric spaces
