Abstract
This research was aimed to determine in what extent the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) strategy improves the mathematical competence data management and uncertainty in secondary school students from the i.e., 81014 Pedro Mercedes Ureña at Trujillo. The research was carried out under a quasi-experimental design, consisting of 67 students belonging to the third grade of secondary school. A development test was used for data collection. The working hypothesis of the research was corroborated by the Student’s T test, where it was found that the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) strategy significantly improves the competence of data management and uncertainty in secondary school students from the i.e., 81014 Pedro Mercedes Ureña, with a significance level of 5%. With a confidence level of 95% and converting to a vigesimal scale, it could be seen that the average score of the students was increased by 4 points approximately, with the application of the PBL strategy.
