Abstract
The present research, titled "Knowledge and attitudes about the COVID-19 vaccine in family caregivers of the elderly", was conducted in the Huamachuco district. The aim was to demonstrate the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes towards the COVID-19 vaccine. The study employed a correlational methodology with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 200 family caregivers of older adults. A questionnaire assessing the level of knowledge was used as the instrument, complemented by a Likert scale for the attitude variable. The relationship between the variables was determined by the chi square statistical test. The findings showed that the highest percentage (81%) of family caregivers had an adequate level of knowledge about the vaccine, and a slightly higher percentage (54%) had a positive attitude towards the vaccination of their older adult relatives. The study concluded that the knowledge and attitudes of family caregivers towards the COVID-19 vaccine were significantly correlated, with a chi-square value of X² = 21.463 and a significance level of less than 1%. Keywords: COVID-19 vaccines, attitude, knowledge, caregivers, family.
