Abstract
The present study focused on the Program "The PBL of Mathematics to delevop financial competencies in Secondary Education", applied to the students of the 3rd year of Secondary School of the I.E." Pedro Mercedes Ureña”, whosetranscendental objective lies in involving financial skills within mathematical teaching thatwill allow students to make correct decisions when in contact with the world of finance. This study is to be improved because it will help Secondary Education students to develop financial skills in the area of Mathematics, through PBL, as a tool to resolve significant situations through a set of actions that will allow students to use functional heuristic strategies, according to the learning standards required by PISA, the Peruvian Educational System, the National Curriculum for Basic Education and the Curriculum Program for Secondary Education. In order to apply and give relevance to the present study, the development test called "Measuring financial competencies" was used as an instrument, which was raised based on the "We solve problems 3" notebook. This same equipped as pre test and post test of the investigation made up of 24 items. After applying said instrument and comparing the results with the background found, the main hypothesis was verified and requested, where it is shown that the PBL of Mathematics significantly develops financial competencies in thirdgrade students of Secondary Education of Educational Institution No. 81014 "Pedro Mercedes Ureña.
