Abstract
existencial.

The purpose of the research was to understand the subjective and emotional elements associated with the use of these drugs, as well as to understand how these people perceive and experience the treatment process, and to identify factors that influence their perception of efficacy and quality of life, using phenomenology based on the theory of the philosopher Martin Heidegger in his book “Being and Time”. The study site was the “CENTRO DE SALUD MENTAL COMUNITARIO EL PORVENIR”, and the eight participants in the study were young adults who met the selection criteria. A detailed interview was conducted with them, which was recorded with the permission of the interviewees. The findings indicate that young adults expressed a variety of opinions and feelings about the use of antidepressants, highlighting both positive perceptions and concerns. Participants expressed significant benefits in terms of alleviating symptoms related to their clinical diagnosis, but also expressed concerns about side effects, social stigma, and the decision-making process in choosing this type of treatment, through Heidegger's philosophy, which encompasses beingin- the-world and being-with-others in defiance of adversity; young adults attend in search of understanding and liberation, emphasizing preoccupation, presence, cure-care, becoming the pillars of existential healing and reflection
