Abstract
ABSTRACT Economic activities need a space for their development that guarantees their value generation process, so in this research we analyzed the impact of the urban mobility system on the economic growth of the city of Trujillo. Considering a non experimental design with a descriptive and correlational longitudinal scope, I analyze and describe the Trujillo urban mobility system considering its main components: available space, users and route management. Also, I detail the economic growth of Trujillo and its dependency relationship to the urban mobility system through content analysis via indirect observation in technical sheets and statistical reports from the sources involved. Developing a generalized moment method (GMM) econometric model for a time series from 2001 to 2019 with estimated data for the city of Trujillo, I find that an increase in the effective space for airport passengers by 1 km2 would increase the economic growth of the city of Trujillo in 0.0432%, the airport road cargo in 0.1192%, that of port road cargo would boost in 0.00309%, that of light vehicles in 0.0215% and that of heavy vehicles in 12.3895%. I suggest that the management improvements of the public use space have a multidisciplinary team that allows the redesign of the routes focused on the needs of the current patterns of displacement and alternative situations for a better performance of the traffic and traffic that generate value in the economy of the city of Trujillo.
