Abstract
Abstract Testicular torsion is the most severe cause of acute scrotal syndrome in patients under 18 years of age. It is considered a diagnostic challenge, because three variants must come together (history, physical examination and Doppler ultrasound); which generates a delay in timely treatment and causes complications such as testicular necrosis, testicular atrophy, infertility, etc. Objective: Compare the TWIST scale vs Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis of testicular torsion in children under 18 years of age with acute scrotal syndrome. Material and method: An analytical, observational, prospective and cohort study will be carried out. The study population will consist of patients under 18 years of age with acute scrotal syndrome with a diagnosis of testicular torsion treated at the Víctor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital in the period from July 2021 to July 2024.
