Abstract
This research aimed to identify the social, economic, environmental and cultural impact of agricultural expansion on the Cerro Orena archaeological zone; from an analysis of bibliographic and photographic record. Resulting, in the socio-economic aspect, a positive impact due to the implementation of services and the progressive advancement of more land with an increase in personnel, however; in the environment there has been a reduction in vegetation cover and the local fauna has been driven away towards the top of the hill and eastern slope of Cerro Orewa, and in the cultural aspect a progressive destruction of the archaeological heritage is being carried out. The contribution of this research is to have determined the negative impact with the agricultural expansion in Cerro Orewa, estimating a loss of approximately 10 ha, of alteration of the cultural and natural heritage and at risk of disappearing, if the competent entities (Ministry of Culture - Chavimochic Special Project) do not apply corrective measures. Meanwhile, this agricultural growth is generating a small increase in economic resources and improving the way of life of the population informally, destroys the Cultural Landscape and at the same time generates pollution to the environment and decrease in cultural resources for scientific research. The Cerro Oreja archaeological complex is a cultural resource with high potential proven with archaeological investigations, it is under the custody of the Ministry of Culture in order to achieve its conservation and protection for multidisciplinary studies and its enhancement to produce sustainable development.
