Abstract
Abstract Acute appendicitis is the most common abdominal surgical pathology worldwide, whose current diagnosis lies in the clinical perspective by the abdominal surgeon combined with auxiliary examinations to assess a more sensitive and specific diagnosis. Thus, a countless number of integrated scales have been implemented to optimize the diagnostic accuracy of this pathology in question. The Alvarado scale is a multivariate method aimed, more specifically, at identifying incompatible conditions and with less probability of complications; On the other hand, the appendicitis inflammatory response scale, AIR, could correspond to situations with a tendency to complication, having greater sensitivity than specificity. Therefore, the study in question is aimed at impartially comparing the usefulness of both assessment scales
