Abstract
The objective of this research is to design a hydraulic test bench for a submersible centrifugal pump, determining its necessary technical characteristics. The development starts from an initial tentative sketch of the design and with obtaining the work parameters indicated by the company, which are necessary to start with the design approach, after this the necessary values were calculated such as: pipe diameter and minimum and maximum flow rates for the work lines. Subsequently, the accessories that constitute the two lines of the test bench were selected, to continue with the calculation of the final height of the cistern and ending with the report and test manual for the testing of the pumps. All analyzes were developed following the guidelines of the Hydraulic Institute in its American Standard for Pump Intake Design and also under the ISO 9906 – 2012 standard and its evaluation grades. Added to this, the development of the design of the lifting system that was used for the installation of the electric pumps to be tested was considered, based on the load and resistance method (LRFD).
