Abstract
Abstract Adolescents experience continuous physical, psychological, emotional and social changes, so that, in the face of current problems, without adequate support, they are a population vulnerable to mental disorders. In Peru, depression is the most common mental disorder, of every 100 people who suffer a depressive episode, 10% are adolescents between 11 and 18 years old. Teen depression is a serious mental health problem that causes a constant feeling of sadness and a loss of interest in doing different activities. In addition to disabling, it is the cause of 60% to 80% of suicides. Video games constitute the main form of entertainment in adolescents and we call it addiction if the use is characterized by poor control, giving it priority over other daily activities and the continuation of this activity despite having negative consequences. Several studies have analyzed the psychiatric comorbidity of video game addiction, finding a relationship with various psychiatric disorders, especially affective disorders such as depression and anxiety.
