Abstract
Objetivo: El presente estudio descriptivo, básico, retrospectivo y transversal tuvo como propósito determinar la prevalencia de trastornos temporomandibulares en el hospital de alta complejidad Virgen de la Puerta. Trujillo, enero- julio 2018.
Material y método: Se tomó como muestra 98 historias clínicas de pacientes referidos con diagnóstico presuntivo de trastorno temporomandibular, de los cuales 19 correspondieron a pacientes varones y 79 a mujeres. Se recopiló los datos presentes de la ficha de reporte hospitalario, que se encuentra en la historia clínica de los pacientes, conforme al índice de Helkimo modificado por Maglione.
Resultados: La prevalencia de trastornos temporomandibulares en las historias clínicas de los pacientes evaluados alcanza el 84.7%. Según género el 84.2% de los hombres presentaron TTM y 84.8% de las mujeres reportaron TTM. De acuerdo al grupo etario la prevalencia fue de 84.3% en 25 – 50 años y un 85.1% en 51 a más años.
Conclusión: No existe relación estadística significativa entre los trastornos temporomandibulares con el grupo etario y el género.
Objective: The purpose of this descriptive, basic, retrospective and cross-sectional study was to determine the prevalence of temporomandibular disorders in the highly complex hospital Virgen de la Puerta. The present data of the hospital report card was compiled, which is found in the patients' medical records, according to the Helkimo index modified by Maglione. Results: The prevalence of temporomandibular disorders in the clinical records of the patients evaluated reaches 84.7%.
