The universe included 100 adults who attended the hemodialysis service in September 2019. The statistical analysis of the results were performed using Kendall's Tau C test, which led to the following conclusions: 91.0% of adults on hemodialysis have a high self-esteem level and 9.0% have low self-esteem; Regarding self-care in hemodialysis treatment, 92.0% of adults presented good self-care and 8.0% presented regular self-care and there were no cases of poor self-care. Likewise, the level of self-esteem influences the self-care of adult hemodialysis patients. A highly significant relationship was found between the level of self-esteem and the level of self-care during hemodialysis treatment (p=0.003<0.01).Este análisis descriptivo correlacional prosee como propósito establecer la relación entre la autoestima y el autocuidado en pacientes adultos en hemodiálisis en el Hospital Víctor Lazarte Echegaray 2019. El universo incluyó a 100 adultos que concurrieron al servicio de hemodiálisis en septiembre de 2019. El estudio estadístico se efectuó utilizando el Tau C de Kendall, lo que llevo a las siguientes conclusiones: El 91.0% de los adultos en hemodiálisis tienen un nivel de autoestima alta y el 9.0% tienen autoestima baja; en cuanto al autocuidado en el proceso de hemodiálisis, el 92.0% de los adultos presentó un cuidado propio bueno y el 8.0% presentó autocuidado regular y no se presentó casos de autocuidado deficiente. Así mismo, el grado de autoestima influye en el autocuidado de los individuos adultos en hemodiálisis.
