La muestra fue 56 estudiantes El tipo de investigación utilizado fue aplicado, con diseño cuasiexperimental. Se aplicaron 16 actividades basadas en el teatro con una duración de 2 meses. Para el procesamiento y análisis de los datos se empleó Microsoft Excel y SPSS versión 25. El instrumento utilizado para recolectar datos fue una escala valorativa de Habilidades Sociales Básicas adaptado de (Monjas, 1992), dicho instrumento fue validado mediante juicio de expertos y su confiabilidad se realizó a través del Coeficiente Alfa de Cronbach, obteniendo un valor de 0.872. Los resultados generales evidencian que los estudiantes desarrollaron habilidades sociales básicas, donde un 93.10 % se ubicó en nivel alto, un 6.90 % en nivel medio y ninguno en nivel bajo, esto corroborado con los resultados de la prueba no paramétrica U de Mann-Whitney con un p valor igual a 0.000 < 0.050. Sin embargo, las habilidades sonreír y reír, y presentaciones, obtuvieron 0.262 y 0.061 respectivamente. Concluyendo que, la aplicación del programa “Protagonizando” influye significativamente en la mejora de las habilidades sociales básicas saludar, favores y, cortesía y amabilidad.The objective of this research was to determine the influence of the “Protagonizando” program on the improvement of basic social skills in third grade students of the Educational Institution No. 81011 Antonio Raimondi, Trujillo, 2022. The sample was 56 students. The type of research used was applied, with a quasi-experimental design. Sixteen theater-based activities were applied with a duration of 2 months. Microsoft Excel and SPSS version 25 were used for data processing and analysis. The instrument used to collect data was an assessment scale of Basic Social Skills adapted from (Monjas, 1992), this instrument was validated by expert judgment and its reliability was assessed through Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient, obtaining a value of 0.872. The general results show that the students developed basic social skills, where 93.10% were at a high level, 6.90% at a medium level and none at a low level, as corroborated by the results of the nonparametric Mann-Whitney U test with a p value equal to 0.000 < 0.050. However, the smiling and laughing skills, and presentations, obtained 0.262 and 0.061 respectively.
