En cuanto a la recolección de datos, se abarcó el 100% de la muestra, previa coordinación con el Director de Departamento de Estomatología y con los Jefes de los Servicios en los Centros de Salud donde se realiza el Internado Rural. La muestra estuvo conformada por 49 estudiantes, 26 de género masculino (53.1%) y 23 de género femenino (46.9%); de los cuales 21 estudiantes corresponden al quinto año (42.9%) y 28 estudiantes a sexto año (57.1%). A quienes se le aplicó un cuestionario validado por juicio de expertos en el tema. Los resultados obtenidos en cuanto al nivel de conocimiento sobre anestésicos locales de los estudiantes de quinto y sexto año es “Bueno” en 8.2%, “Regular” el 49.0% y “Malo” el 42.8%. Se puede concluir que no existe una relación estadística significativa entre el nivel de conocimiento sobre anestésicos locales con el género y el año de estudios; predominando el nivel Regular en un 52.4% en estudiantes de quinto año y un 46.4% en los estudiantes de sexto año.The objective of this present observational, descriptive and cross-sectional investigation was to determine the level of knowledge about local anesthetics of the fifth and sixth year students of the Stomatology School of the National University of Trujillo, 2015. Regarding the collection of data, 100% of the sample was covered, prior coordination with the Director of the Department of Dentistry and with the Heads of Services in the Health Centers where the Rural Internship takes place. The sample consisted of 49 students, 26 males (53.1%) and 23 females (46.9%); of which 21 students correspond to the fifth year (42.9%) and 28 students to the sixth year (57.1%).
