A total of 786 prescriptions were analyzed. The method consisted of obtaining from the prescription and validation sheets, the prescribed values of meq calcium, mmol phosphorus and total volume of the preparations 2: 1, calculating the precipitation factor by means of the following formula: [((mgCa / 40) / liter) x ((mgP / 31) / liter)] / 100. The results were: 73% of the samples have a value of precipitation factor less than 1, 25% have a value between 1-1.5, and 2% of the total exceed the maximum allowed value of 1.5. From the analysis of the results it is concluded that 98% of the parenteral prescriptions had a precipitation factor of less than 1.5 and 2% surpassed the valueEl presente trabajo de investigación tuvo como objetivo, determinar el factor de precipitación de preparados parenterales del servicio de UCI/UCIN – Neonatología del Hospital Víctor Lazarte Echegaray – Trujillo, durante el periodo enero-julio 2017. Se analizó un total de 786 prescripciones. El método consistió en obtener de las hojas de prescripción y validación, los valores prescritos de meq calcio, mmol fosforo y volumen total de los preparados 2:1, calculándose el factor de precipitación mediante la siguiente formula: [((mgCa/40)/litro) x ((mgP/31)/litro)]/100. Los resultados fueron: el 73% de las muestras tienen un valor de factor de precipitación menor a 1, el 25% tienen un valor entre 1-1.5, y el 2% del total superan el máximo valor permitido de 1.5.
