The objective of this study was to determine the concentration of metals in 80 samples of medicinal plants from the district of Cachicadán. The leaves were dried, ground, sieved and worked with them by means of an acid digestion and later in the atomic absorption spectrophotometer, the concentrations of each metal were expressed in mg / kg comparing with the values given in the bibliographies of the World Organization of Health and European Pharmacopoeia. The determined concentration of Pb, Cd, Fe, Cu, Mn and Zn was on average 0.53mg / kg; 0.11mg / kg; 43.34mg / kg; 46.00mg / kg; 117.89mg / kg and 101.01mg / kg respectively. El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar la concentración de metales en 80 muestras de plantas medicinales provenientes del distrito de Cachicadán. Las hojas fueron secadas, molidas, tamizadas y se trabajó con ellas mediante una digestión acida y posteriormente en el espectrofotómetro de absorción atómica, las concentraciones de cada metal se expresaron en mg/kg comparando con los valores dados en las bibliografías de la Organización Mundial de la Salud y Farmacopea Europea. La concentración determinada de Pb, Cd, Fe, Cu, Mn y Zn fue en promedio 0,53mg/kg; 0,11mg/kg; 43,34mg/kg; 46,00mg/kg; 117,89mg/kg y 101,01mg/kg respectivamente.
