Materials and Methods: retrospective longitudinal descriptive study that evaluates the indicators weight for age (WAZ), height for age (HAZ) and weight for height (WHZ) according to the WHO (Z-scores) of 14 children under 10 years old who started HAART in two EsSalud Hospitals of Trujillo-Peru. The baseline and 6, 12, 18 and 24 months measures were plotted, the baseline were compared with 24-months values, applying paired-samples T-student test (p <0.05), and the percentage of low weight, growth retardation and emaciation was identified. Results and conclusions: The average age at the start of HAART was 14.79 ± 12.23 months. The values of baseline 6, 12, 18 and 24 months WAZ were -0.87, -0.54, -0.25, 0, 0.07. HAZ were -1.15, -1.17, -0.95, -0.74, -0.29 and WHZ were -0.28, 0.08, 0.33, 0.54, 0.24. Three of the patients (21.43%) were underweight at HAART start, 3 (21.43%) were in the stunting range and 1 (7.14%) was wasted; after 2 years 2 (13.3%), 1 ( 7.14%), 0 respectively. There is a significant increase in WAZ after 2 years of HAART with respect to baseline (p: 0.016)Determinar cómo varían los indicadores antropométricos de pacientes menores de 10 años infectados por el VIH que inician Terapia antirretroviral de gran actividad (TARGA). Materiales y Métodos: estudio descriptivo longitudinal retrospectivo que evalúa los indicadores peso para edad(PPE), talla para edad(TPE) y peso para talla(PPT) acorde la OMS (puntuaciones-Z), de 14 niños menores de 10 años que iniciaron TARGA en dos Hospitales EsSalud de Trujillo-Perú. Se graficaron las mediciones basales y a los 6, 12, 18 y 24 meses, se compararon los valores basales y 24 meses aplicando T-student para muestras relacionadas (p<0.05), y se identificó el porcentaje de peso bajo, talla baja y retraso en el crecimiento. Resultados y conclusiones: La edad promedio al inicio de TARGA fue 14.79 ± 12.23 meses. Los valores de PPE basal, a los 6, 12, 18 y 24 meses de iniciado TARGA fueron -0.87, -0.54, -0.25, 0, 0.07. De TPE fueron -1.15, -1.17, -0.95, -0.74, -0.29 y los de PPT de -0.28, 0.08, 0.33, 0.54, 0.24. De los pacientes, 3 (21.43%) iniciaron TARGA con peso bajo, 3 (21.43%) con retraso de crecimiento y 1(7,14%) con emaciación y al cabo de 2 años 2 (13,3%), 1(7,14%), 0 respectivamente.
