Materials and methods: This is a transversal, observational, retrospective, analitic and descriptive study that had a poblation conformed by the monthly reports of incident and prevalent cases of pulmonar tuberculosis in La Libertad reported by GERESA in the period of 2012-2020. Results: In the region La Libertad, the incidence rate of pulmonary tuberculosis in the period of 2015-2019 vary between 45.3 and 48.9, and this rate in 2020 was 31.5 (p=0.000). In the other hand, the prevalence rate in the period of 2015-2019 vary between 52.0 and 55.2, and this rate was 34.8 (p=0.000) in 2020. Conclusions: In the region La Libertad, the incidence and prevalence rates of pulmonary tuberculosis significantly decreased during the COVID-19 pandemic, in comparation of the incidence and prevalence rates before COVID-19 pandemic.Determinar las tasas de incidencia y prevalencia de tuberculosis pulmonar en la región La Libertad, en el contexto de la pandemia por COVID-19. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: Se realizó un estudio transversal, observacional, retrospectivo, analítico y descriptivo cuya población fue constituida por los registros mensuales de casos incidentes y prevalentes de tuberculosis pulmonar en la región La Libertad reportados por la Gerencia Regional de Salud (GERESA) entre el periodo 2012-2020. RESULTADOS: En la región La Libertad, las tasas de incidencia de tuberculosis pulmonar entre los años 2015 y 2019 variaron desde 45.3 hasta 48.9, y en el año 2020 la tasa de incidencia fue de 31.5 (p=0.000). Por otro lado, las tasas de prevalencia entre los años 2015 y 2019 variaron desde 52.0 hasta 55.2, y en el año 2020 la tasa de prevalencia fue de 34.8 (p=0.000).
