The type of applied research has been considered, based on an explanatory design, and the sample consisted of 40 older adults, distributed in 22 women and 18 men, with whom we worked applying the methods and techniques of quantitative research: Statistical method and as a technique to the survey, and qualitative research: Inductive - deductive method; and direct observation and interview as techniques. From the results obtained, it can be demonstrated that indifferent family relationships directly influence and poor family communication styles directly influence the moral and material abandonment of elderly users at the Tomás Lafora Guadalupe support hospital. Of the total of the elderly surveyed, they indicated that among the factors of family abandonment, the majority referred that it was when they suffer some health problem - illness and it is the one that predominates, followed by the family factor when they live alone at home, which means abandonment total complicating if quality of life. Bibliographic references and Annexes.La presente tesis se realizó con la finalidad de analizar la influencia de las relaciones familiares en el abandono del adulto mayor usuarios en el hospital de apoyo Tomás Lafora Guadalupe, 2020. Se ha considerado el tipo de investigación aplicada, teniendo como base un diseño explicativo, y la muestra constó de 40 adultos mayores, distribuidos en 22 mujeres y 18 varones, con los cuales se trabajó aplicando los métodos y técnicas de la investigación cuantitativa: Método estadístico y como técnica a la encuesta, y la investigación cualitativa: Método inductivo – deductivo; y como técnicas la observación directa y la entrevista. De los resultados obtenidos se puede demostrar que Las relaciones familiares indiferentes influyen directamente y los deficientes estilos de comunicación familiar influyen directamente en el abandono moral y material de los adultos mayores usuarios en el hospital de apoyo Tomás Lafora Guadalupe. Del total de adultos mayores encuestados señalaron que entre los factores de abandono familiar, la mayoría refirió que fue cuando sufren algún problema de salud – enfermedad y es el que predomina, seguido de factor familiar cuando viven solos en su casa, lo que significa un abandono total complicando su calidad de vida.
