La metodología utilizada fue tipo aplicada y diseño experimental. La técnica usada fue la encuesta y el instrumento el cuestionario. Los resultados y conclusiones fueron, que la implementar el modelo Lean, se realizó los unos ordenamientos de los procesos a través de las 5S, lo que permitió mejorar la valoración posterior en la diferencia de medias, encontrando que antes de la aplicación del método se obtuvo una media de valoración de 8.13 y después de 3.88, además después de analizar estadísticamente mediante la prueba de Wilcoxon se encontró que el valor de significancia fue de 0.043 < 0.05, indicando que la implementación del modelo si mejora el proceso de Seguridad y Salud en el trabajo. Para ello, se realizó un análisis de ordenamiento, identificación de problemas, planteamiento de mejoras basados en herramientas tales como VSM y 5S, logrando la reducción de tiempo de búsqueda de objetos y tiempo de espera.The general objective of the research was to implement the Lean Manufacturing model to improve the health and safety system in a university institution. The methodology used was applied type and experimental design. The technique used was the survey and the instrument the questionnaire. The results and conclusions were, that when implementing the Lean model, the ordering of the processes was carried out through the 5S, which allowed to improve the subsequent assessment in the difference of means, finding that before the application of the method it was obtained an average evaluation of 8.13 and after 3.88, in addition, after statistically analyzing through the Wilcoxon test, it was found that the significance value was 0.043 < 0.05, indicating that the implementation of the model does improve the Health and Safety process in the job.
