Four brood’s tock of A. ocellatus were used for the experimentation of three years of the albino and copper varieties, which were conditioned in 217 and 171 L aquaria with biomechanical filtration and air lines. The number of eggs, the number of fingerlings and their survival were determined. The breeding fishes were fed live food with a feed rate of 3,55 to 5,32% and a sexual ratio of 1: 1. A total of 2 396 eggs of A. ocellatus albino variety were obtained on average with a mortality of 10,75% and 2 256 of the copper variety with a mortality of 11,58%. The production of albino "Oscar fish" fingerlings was 2 139 and of the copper variety of 1 990 with a survival of 99,48 and 99,35% respectively. It is concluded that the total production of A. ocellatus fingerlings in the period of investigation was 22 787. Se utilizó para la experimentación cuatro reproductores de A. ocellatus de tres años de las variedades albino y cobre, a quienes se les acondicionó en acuarios de 217 y 171 L con filtración biomecánica y líneas de aire. Se determinó el número de huevos, el número de alevines y supervivencia de estos. Se alimentó a los reproductores de A. ocellatus con alimento vivo con una tasa de alimentación de 3,55 a 5,32% y con una proporción sexual de 1:1. Se obtuvieron en promedio de 2 396 huevos de A. ocellatus variedad albino con una mortalidad de 10,75% y 2 256 de la variedad cobre con una mortalidad de 11,58%. La producción de alevines de “pez Oscar” albino fue de 2 139 y de la variedad cobre de 1 990 con una supervivencia de 99,48 y 99,35% respectivamente.
