Los animales fueron sometidos a una mezcla de aire con gas sevoflurano al 3%, en una cámara de anestesia durante 5 minutos. De los 50 gazapos monitoreados solo el 6% reaccionaron positivamente, mientras que la mayor parte de ellos, el 94%, fueron negativos. La temperatura corporal promedio de los gazapos positivos fue de 38,9ºC, oscilando entre 38,7 y 39,1°C, mientras que los negativos fueron en promedio de 37,9°C. Los gazapos positivos tuvieron en promedio 142,3 respiraciones por minuto en comparación a los negativos que se determinó 83,7. El número de latidos cardiacos por minuto en los gazapos de reacción positiva al sevoflurano fue en promedio de 205 y los negativos de 119,5. Durante la exposición de los gazapos positivos al gas sevoflurano se observaron temblores musculares en todo el cuerpo. Se concluye que los gazapos positivos son animales nerviosos, y tienen ligeramente mayor temperatura corporal, y 41 % mayor frecuencia respiratoria y cardiaca que los gazapos negativos.
