To carry out the research, the inductive-deductive, descriptive, statistical and ethnographic method was applied; and as techniques the observation, interview and literature review; in the same way the instruments were used as the observation guide, interview guide, the field book and the camera. It was concluded that territorial development is manifested as the basis in the proper management of natural resources in the Poroto Campiña, allowing the knowledge of reality by the Porotine population to adapt their techniques to the problems that are presented as water erosion and pollution. Giving way for the district municipality to include projects that allow planning the attention and design of management policy proposals that attend and contribute to the formation of the different sectors of society and call the organizations of said rural territory, for the benefit of farmers.El presente trabajo de investigación denominado Tenencia de la tierra e infraestructura menor de riego en el desarrollo territorial de la Campiña de Poroto, 2018; se realizó en la Campiña de Poroto, Distrito de Poroto, Provincia de Trujillo, Región de la Libertad; con el objetivo describir cómo influye la tenencia de la tierra y la infraestructura menor de riego en el desarrollo territorial de la población de la Campiña de Poroto El estudio estuvo conformado por el universo total que vienen a ser 80 familias pertenecientes a la Campiña de Poroto. Para realizar la investigación se aplicó el método inductivo-deductivo, descriptivo, estadístico y etnográfico; y como técnicas la observación, entrevista y revisión bibliográfica; del mismo modo se utilizó los instrumentos como la guía de observación, guía de entrevista, la libreta de campo y la cámara fotográfica. Se concluyó que el desarrollo territorial se ve manifestado como la base en el manejo adecuado de los recursos naturales en la Campiña de Poroto, permitiendo que el conocimiento de la realidad por parte del poblador porotino, adecue sus técnicas a los problemas que se vallan presentando como la erosión hídrica y la contaminación.
