The concentration of iron in muscle was 1.39 mg in Peru, 1.37 mg in the Andean race and 1.31 mg in the Ani breed, presenting statistically significant differences according to ANOVA with a p <0.05. It is concluded that the Peru breed has the highest concentration of iron in muscle among the three racesEl objetivo de este informe de investigación fue determinar la concentración de hierro en músculo de Cavia porcellus (cuy) de las razas Andina, Perú e Inti, usando el método colorimétrico de Munsey con fenantrolina. La concentración de hierro en músculo fue en la raza Perú de 1,39mg, en la raza Andina 1,37 mg y en la raza Inti 1,31 mg presentando diferencias estadísticamente significativas según ANOVA con un p<0.05.
