    Determinación del riesgo de caries mediante protocolo Cambra en preescolares de Pronoei del distrito de Víctor Larco – 2018

    Objective: To determine the risk of caries by means of the CAMBRA protocol in pre-school children of the PRONOEI from Víctor Larco district-2018. Materials and methods: Descriptive, cross-sectional and observational study. Developed in the Non-School Programs (PRONOEI), community setting, Víctor Larco district from Trujillo, October to December period of the 2018. Results: 100% of preschool children had a high risk of caries according to CAMBRA. 100% of children consume more than 3 times a day carbohydrates and / or sugary drinks between meals, 100% of mothers have little knowledge about good oral health habits, 100% of children brush their teeth with fluoride toothpaste at least once a day, 100% of children had visible white spots, decalcification of enamel or decay; 93.8% presented normal saliva flow; 50% had high counts of Streptococcus mutans in saliva; 56.25% presented low Lactobacillus count in saliva; 100% had at least one carious lesion according to ICDAS and 75% had a moderate salivary pH.Conclusions: The risk of caries through the CAMBRA protocol in PRONOEI preschool children in the Víctor Larco district is high. The most frequent risk factors were the consumption of carbohydrates, little knowledge in health education and the presence of caries in the mother or guardian (a) and the only protective factor was brushing at least once a day
