Item Efecto antibacteriano de los glicoalcaloides del chuño de papa de Solanum tuberosum sobre Pseudomonas aeruginosa(Universidad Nacional de Trujillo, 2021-03-15) Benites Narcizo, Gregorio; Zárate Arce, Marco AntonioDeterminate the antibacterial effect of the glycoalkaloids (GA) from “Chuño de papa” of Solanum tuberosum against wild Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Materials and methods: Experimental study in which steroidal GA were extracted into 3 different concentrations (15 mg/dL, 30 mg/dL, and 60 mg/dL) from “Chuño de papa” through an ethanolic dilution to face them against P. aeruginosa, using the Kirby-Bauer’s method of disc diffusion, testing the drug imipenem as positive control and dimethylsulfoxide as the negative one. Also, the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (CMI) was determinate through the tube macro dilution method. Results: The inhibition halo that represents the susceptibility of P. aeruginosa to GA were average 4.25 mm, 6.25 mm, and 7.13 mm for the concentrations 15 mg/dL, 30 mg/dL, and 60 mg/dL respectably. No CMI was found for none of the concentrations because all tests had colony growth. Wild P. aeruginosa was found to be resistant to imipenem. Conclusion: GA from “Chuño de papa” of S. tuberosum does not have a significant antibacterial inhibitory effect against wild strains of P. aeruginosa.
