Item Alteración De Glucemia Basal Y De Tolerancia A La Glucosa En Rattus Norvegicus Variante Albinus Expuestas Al Humo Lateral Del Cigarrillo(Universidad Nacional de Trujillo, 2014) CHOQUEHUANCA BALTODANO, NADIA PAOLATITLE: "Impaired of Basal Glucose and Glucose Tolerance in Rattus norvegicus variant albinus exposed to cigarette smoke side" OBJECTIVE: To establish whether exposure to cigarette sidestream smoke in Rattus norvegicus albinus variety produces glucose and impaired glucose tolerance in Rattus norvegicus albinus variety MATERIAL AND METHODS: 16 Holtzman male rats, of which 8 were in the control group and 8 of the experimental were used, a sample of glucose was noted both groups on day 0 of the exhibition, then the experimental group were exposed to smoke cigarette at a concentration of 100-300ppm of carbon monoxide. At the 4th week test glucose tolerance was performed, after 12 hours of fasting, the two groups, determining the fasting glucose, then at 30, 60 and 120 minutes after administration of glucose. At the end of 8 weeks the test of glucose tolerance was repeated. RESULTS: A significant difference (p <0.05) was demonstrated in fasting blood glucose levels of the experimental rats between glycemia obtained before exposure compared with those obtained at 4 weeks after exposure (104 vs 139.5 mg / dl), so is comparing fasting glucose levels before exposure to glycemia at 8 weeks of exposure (p = 0.004). Also when comparing the experimental and control groups were significant (p <0.05) between the curves of glucose tolerance at 8 weeks of exposure. CONCLUSION: Exposure to cigarette smoke produces alteration in the curve of glucose tolerance and increased fasting glucose, to produce in the future Diabetes Mellitus.
