Rat, testosterone (T) induces hyperinsulinemia in the pancreas while androgens can function as inductors allowing angiogenic cell growth. Objective: To determine whether intramuscular testosterone decreases fasting glucose and post-prandial in rattus norvegicus with DM1. Materials and Methods: A 24 rattus norvegicus between 2.5 - 3 months, 190-250 grams, were induced DM1 (high blood glucose 200 mg / dL) with intraperitoneal aloxano®. 3 groups, one control and two experimental (with 1 or 2 doses of T respectively) was formed and blood glucose were measured in fasting and postprandial (1 to 2 hours) in the morning and evening. Histological sheets pancreas was developed in hematoxylin-eosin for subsequent cell count. Results: The morning glycemia decreased significantly (sig.) Comparing fasting groups: control, with 1 dose of T (α = 0.002) and with 2 doses of T (α = 0.000); in post prandial (2 hours) control group with 1 dose of T (α = 0.007) and with 2 doses of T (α = 0.007) and glucose in the afternoon decreased sig comparing groups fasting: control group 1 doses of T (α = 0.019) and with two doses of T (α = 0.022); also counts increased pancreatic islet cells was not significant in rats with T (α = 0.271). Conclusion: T decreases significantly glycemia fasting and postprandial (2 hours) predominantly in the morning
