dc.descriptionThe purpose of this descriptive, cross-sectional research study was to determine the level of knowledge about medical emergencies in stomatology students who are in the third to sixth academic year at the National University of Trujillo. The sample was made up of all the students (84) who are in the academic year from third to sixth year to whom a questionnaire of 30 closed questions was applied, divided into three dimensions: diagnosis, first aid and pharmacological management of emergency situations, the responses were analyzed using the SPSS v. 26. and a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet The results show that the level of knowledge about medical mergencies is "Regular", the best known dimensions are two, diagnosis and first aid, presenting a level of knowledge "Good" with 57% and 51% respectively. When analyzed by year of study, in the four years studied a “Regular” level of knowledge prevailed, the fourth year (38%) presented the highest percentage regarding the “Good” level of knowledge. It is concluded that the level of knowledge about medical emergencies that can occur during daily practice in tomatology students from third to sixth year of the Faculty of Stomatology of the UNT was "Regular", not finding a statistical relationship between the year of students and the management of medical emergencie
dc.description.abstractEl presente estudio de investigación de tipo descriptivo, de corte transversal, tuvo como propósito determinar el nivel de conocimientos sobre emergencias médicas en estudiantes de estomatología que cursan de tercero a sexto año académico de la Universidad Nacional de Trujillo (UNT). La muestra estuvo constituida por todos los estudiantes (84) pertenecientes a la Facultad de Estomatología de la UNT, que cursan el año académico de tercero a sexto año a quienes se les aplicó un cuestionario de 30 preguntas cerradas, divididas en tres dimensiones: diagnostico, primeros auxilios y manejo farmacológico de las situaciones de emergencias, las respuestas fueron analizadas mediante el programa SPSS v. 26. y una planilla de Microsoft Excel. En los resultados se observa que el nivel de conocimientos sobre emergencias médicas es “Regular”, las dimensiones mejor conocidas son dos, el diagnóstico y primeros auxilios, presentando un nivel de conocimientos “Bueno” con 57% y 51% respectivamente. Al analizarlo por año de estudio, en los cuatro años estudiados predominó un nivel de conocimientos “Regular”, cuarto año presentó (38%) el porcentaje más alto respecto al nivel de conocimiento “Bueno”. Se concluye que el nivel de conocimientos sobre emergencias médicas que pueden ocurrir durante la práctica diaria en estudiantes de estomatología de tercero a sexto año de la Facultad de Estomatología de la UNT fue “Regular”, no hallándose una relación estadística entre el año de estudiantes y el manejo de emergencias médicas.
