dc.description.abstractEl estudio de investigación de tipo descriptivo, comparativo, observacional y de corte transversal tuvo como propósito determinar y comparar la dureza, resistencia a compresión y estabilidad dimensional de los yesos dentales tipo IV de mayor comercialización nacional, para lo cual se utilizaron 8 muestras de forma cilíndrica de cada yeso dental tipo IV para evaluar la dureza, y 8 muestras de forma rectangular para evaluar la resistencia a compresión y estabilidad dimensional. La dureza se evaluó con el Durómetro Universal Identec, realizando tres identaciones en cada muestra. La resistencia a compresión se evaluó con la máquina de ensayo universal Instron 8801 a una velocidad de 2 mm/min hasta que se fracture cada muestra; y la estabilidad dimensional se evaluó midiendo el volumen inicial y volumen final después de dos horas respectivamente de cada muestra. Los resultados obtenidos de dureza de los yesos dentales no alcanzaron los estándares promedios que establece la ADA. En cuanto a la resistencia a compresión, todos los yesos dentales alcanzaron los estándares que establecen la ADA y sus fabricantes. Referente a la estabilidad dimensional, solo el 28.56% de los yesos dentales alcanzaron los estándares que establecen la ADA y sus fabricantes. Existieron diferencias altamente significativas entre todos los yesos dentales tanto en dureza, resistencia a compresión y estabilidad dimensional (p>0.05)es_PE
dc.description.abstractThe present descriptive, comparative, observative and cross-sectional research study aimed to determine and compare the hardness, compressive strength and dimensional stability of the most national commercialized type IV dental stones, for which 8 cylindrical samples of each type IV dental stone were used to test the hardness, and 8 rectangular samples to test the compressive strength and dimensional stability. The hardness was tested using the Identec universal durometer, performing three indentations on each sample. The compressive strength was tested using the Instron 8801 Universal Testing System at a speed of 2 mm/min until each sample breaks; and the dimensional stability was tested measuring the initial volume and final volume of each sample after two hours, respectively. The results obtained from the hardness of dental stones did not achieve the average standards established by the ADA. As for the compressive strength, all the dental stones achieved the standards established by the ADA and its producers. Regarding the dimensional stability, only 28.56% of the dental stones achieved the standards established by the ADA and its producers. There were major differences between all the dental stones in terms of hardness, compressive strength and dimensional stability (p > 0.05)es_PE
