dc.description.abstractObjective: The present research had as main objective to determine the frequency, number, affected arch and location of impacted and included teeth in radiographic images of people with orthodontic treatment, ‘Imágenes Rx’ 2018 – 2020. Materials and Methods: The study of basic, descriptive and retrospective type had a population of 97 panoramic radiographs of patients aged 25 – 45 years with orthodontic treatment, of wich 33 were male and 62 were female, wich met the established inclusion and exclusion criteria. The findings were recorded on the data collection sheet, specifying gender, number, location and arch affected. The results were presented in double-entry tables and graphs. Results: Data obtained at the end of the investigation showed that 17 male (51.5%) patients and 22 (35.5%) female patients with 22 impacted tooth. We found 3 included teeth in both male (9.1%) and females (4.8%). Regarding of number, we found 6 females with 3 – 4 impacted or included tooth, 10 females got 2 tooth and only 7 got 1 tooth, while in men, 4 males had 3 – 4 impacted or included tooth, 7 had 2 and 7 got just 1 teeth affected. Regarding the affected arch, in the maxilla, 6 males (18.2%) and 12 females (19.4%) were affected; while in the jaw, 17 males (51.5%) and 19 females (30.6%) were affected. Regarding ectopic location, there was 18 males (54.5%) and 23 (37.1%) females affected, while in heterotopic location, we only found 2 males (6.1%) and 1 female (1.6%). Conclusions: There is a higher frequency of impacted teeth in the jaw in men (51.5%) than in women (30.6%).
dc.description.abstractObjetivo: El objetivo principal determinar la frecuencia, número, arcada afectada y ubicación de dientes impactados e incluidos en imágenes radiográficas de individuos con tratamiento ortodóntico, Imágenes Rx 2018-2020. Materiales y Métodos: El estudio básico, descriptivo y retrospectivo contó con una población de 97 radiografías panorámicas de pacientes de 25 – 45 años de edad con tratamiento ortodóntico, que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión y de exclusión establecidos. Los hallazgos se registraron en la hoja de recolección de datos, especificando género, número, ubicación y arcada afectada. Los resultados fueron presentados en tablas y gráficos de doble entrada. Resultados: Se demostró que hubo 17 (51.5%) varones y 22 (35.5%) mujeres con dientes impactados. En cuanto a piezas incluidas se encontró 3 piezas tanto en varones (9.1%) como en mujeres (4.8%). Se evidenció que, en cuanto al número, 6 mujeres tuvieron de 3 a 4 dientes impactados y/o incluida, 10 tuvieron 2 y 7 tan solo 1 pieza, mientras que, en los varones, 4 tuvieron de 3 a 4 piezas impactadas y/o incluidas, 7 tuvieron 2 y otras 7 tan solo 1 pieza. Según la arcada afectada, en el maxilar se halló a 6 varones (18.2%) afectados y 12 mujeres (19.4%); en la mandíbula hubo 17 varones (51.5%) afectados y 19 mujeres (30.6%). Referente a la ubicación ectópica, hubo 18 varones (54.5%) y 23 mujeres (37.1%) y en la ubicación heterotópica, tan solo 2 varones (6.1%) y 1 mujer (1.6%). Conclusiones: Existe una mayor frecuencia de piezas impactadas en la mandíbula en los varones (51.5%) que en las mujeres (30.6%)es_PE
