Sistema de tutoría en el programa de Estomatología de la Universidad Nacional de Trujillo en el año 2017

Abstract
Objetivo: Conocer la situación actual y expectativas de los estudiantes y docentes del Programa de Estomatología respecto al Sistema de Tutoría en el año 2017.
Materiales y métodos A una muestra total de 15 docentes y 99 estudiantes de la Facultad de Estomatología de la Universidad Nacional de Trujillo se le aplicó un cuestionario - encuesta para docentes y otra para estudiantes destinada a determinar la situación actual y expectativas sobre el Sistema de Tutoría.
Resultados: Analizados los resultados estos muestran que: en los estudiantes, 74.7% nunca recibe atención de su tutor(a), 71.7% su tutor(a) nunca procura mantener comunicación con ellos, 62.6% su tutor(a) nunca muestra disponibilidad para atenderlos, 69.7% su tutor(a) nunca lo orienta para solucionar sus dificultades académicas, y 68.7% los ambientes destinados a la tutoría nunca son adecuados.
Los resultados de los docentes muestran que: 33.3% a veces atiende a sus tutorados designados, 40,0% a veces se interesa por los resultados académicos de sus tutorados ,46.7% a veces se interesa por los problemas personales de sus tutorados, 40.0% nunca canaliza a sus tutorados a instancias correspondientes cuando alguna situación rebasa su área de acción y 60% nunca registra, ni reporta sus atenciones de tutoría.
Respecto a las expectativas del sistema de Tutoría , los resultados de los estudiantes muestran: 32.3% consideran importante, participar en la selección de su tutor(a), 43.4% importante, tener una comunicación cordial con su tutor(a), 39.4% importante, que su tutor (a) se interese por sus resultados académicos y en caso necesario les oriente para mejorarlos,46.5% muy importante, que su tutor(a) conozca de la normatividad Institucional y servicios de apoyo para orientarlos en sus problemas estudiantiles y 40.4% importante, tener varias opciones para la Tutoría: Personal, en grupos pequeños, en grupos grandes.
Los resultados de los docentes muestran : 66.7% consideran importante, contar con “carpetas del estudiante” donde se recoja toda la información académico y personal de cada tutorado, 53.3% muy importante ,recibir capacitación para su formación como tutor, 46.7% muy importante, que se le actualice en estrategias de aprendizaje para poder guiar a su tutorados, 40.0% muy importante que los ambientes designados para Tutoría sean adecuados y 53.3% importante, participar activamente dentro del Sistema de Tutoría.
Conclusiones: En la Situación Actual del Sistema de Tutoría, los estudiantes en su mayoría no recibe atención de su tutor y los docentes en su mayoría no registra ni reporta sus atenciones de Tutoría. En las Expectativas del Sistema de Tutoría , los estudiantes en su mayoría consideran muy importante ,que su tutor(a) conozca de la normatividad Institucional y servicios de apoyo para orientarlos en sus problemas estudiantiles y los docentes en su mayoría consideran importante, contar con “carpetas del estudiante” donde se recoja toda la información académico y personal de cada tutorado.
Objetive: To know the Stomatology students and professor real situation and expectation in relation to the tutorial system in 2017 Materials and methods: A sample of 15 professors and 99 students from the Stomatology School of the National University of Trujillo. A questionnaire survey has been applied in order to know the real situation and expectations in relation to the tutorial system. Results: Basing on students results: 74.7% of the students have never received attention from their tutors, 71.7% of the tutors do not maintain communication with them, and 62.6% of the tutors are not available to give attention. 69.7% of the tutors have never advised to solve academic problems and 68.7% of the tutorial environments have never been appropriated. Basing on professors results: 33.3% of the tutors have sometimes given attention, 40.0% of the tutors have sometimes been interested on the assigned students’ academic results, 46.7% have sometimes been interested on the assigned students’ personal problems, and 40.0% have never directed assigned students’ situation to the bodies corresponding when their actions exceed and 60% have never registered and reported their assistance. Related to tutorial system expectations: 32.3% of the students think it is important to participate in the selection of the tutors, 43.4% of the students think it is important to have a good communication, 39.4% of the students think it is important the tutors show interest in their academic results and also support to improve them, 46.5% of the students think it is important the tutors know about the institutional normative and supporting services in order to help them and 40.4% of the students think it is important to have many options of supporting and techniques such as individual and groups meetings. Basing on the professors: 66.7% think it is important to have students’ folder in which each one show their academic and personal information. 53.3% think it is important to receive coaching as a tutor. 46.7% think it is important to update the strategies in order to give assistance. 40.0% think it is important to have a nice atmosphere and conditions and 53.3% think it is important to be involved in the tutorial system. Conclusions: According to the tutorial system real situation, most of the students do not receive attention and assistance and mainly professors do not register and report their tutorial attentions. The tutorial system expectations show that most of the students consider it is very important that their tutors know about the institutional normative and supporting services in order to help them in their problems. Mainly professors think it is important to have students folder in which each one have academic and personal information.
