Abstract
El presente estudio de tipo básico, descriptivo, transversal tuvo como propósito evaluar el nivel de conocimiento y práctica sobre medidas de bioseguridad de los estudiantes de estomatología de la Universidad Nacional de Trujillo en el año 2015, tomando como muestra un total de 65 alumnos, divididos en tres grupos: tercer, cuarto y quinto año del plan de estudio. Se aplicó un instrumento cuestionario encuesta, que sirvió para evaluar el nivel de conocimientos sobre medidas de bioseguridad, mientras que para evaluar el nivel de práctica se utilizó el instrumento de lista de verificación; instrumentos que fueron previamente validados. Los resultados revelan que el nivel de conocimiento fue de 47.7% con nivel regular y malo; mientras que para el nivel de práctica fue 67.7% con nivel regular. Se concluye que los estudiantes de estomatología presentan un nivel de conocimiento sobre medidas de bioseguridad predominantemente regular y malo, y un nivel de práctica predominantemente regular.
The present study of basic, descriptive, cross-sectional type had the purpose of evaluating the level of knowledge and practice on biosafety measures of stomatology students of the National University of Trujillo in 2015, taking as sample a total of 65 students, divided in three groups: third, fourth and fifth year of the study plan. An instrument survey questionnaire was applied, which was used to evaluate the level of knowledge about biosafety measures, while to evaluate the level of practice the checklist instrument was used; instruments that were previously validated. The results reveal that the level of knowledge was 47.7% at a regular and bad level; while for the practice level it was 67.7% at the regular level. It is concluded that stomatology students present a level of knowledge about predominantly regular and bad biosecurity measures, and a predominantly regular level of practice.
