Abstract
Objective: The present basic study according to its orientation, descriptive and cross-section according to the design of the test; Had as main objective to determine the prevalence of caries and the level of Lactobacillus acidophilus in pediatric asthma patients with prescriptions of inhaled Beclomethasone and Salbutamol treated at Hospital I Luis Albrech, Trujillo 2016. Materials and methods: The sample consisted of 46 pediatric patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. To determine the prevalence of caries, the ceo-d index and the CPO-D were used for assessing caries. For the level of Lactobacillus acidophilus, we used the classical or standard method of salivary counts of Lactobacillus of the acidophilus group; the results were presented in statistical tables. Results: It was found that the Prevalence of caries of 46 patients that conformed the sample, 91.3% presented this pathology. Also for the assessment of caries, the ceo-d index was low (2.50) and the CPO-D index was moderate (3.63). The average level of Lactobacillus acidophilus was 2.3x105 CFU / ml of saliva. Finally, the mean salivary flow level was 1.34 ml / min. Conclusions: It was concluded that the prevalence of caries in pediatric asthma patients with prescriptions of inhaled Beclomethasone and Salbutamol was 91.3%. The ceod index for deciduous teeth was Low, while the CPOD index for permanent teeth was Moderate. The mean Lactobacillus acidophilus level was 2.3x105 CFU / ml saliva and the mean salivary flow level was 1.34 ml / min.
